Tax-Smart Gifts
Giving through a Donor Advised Fund, a Qualified Charitable Distribution via your IRA and/or transferring stock are wonderful ways to support our mission. Working with your advisor(s), you’ll need our tax identification number to complete your transaction: 91-0577128.

Gifts of Property
You can now donate property to support the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County (home, undeveloped land and/or commercial property). Our partners at Giving Property will appraise the donation, sell it, and the shelter will receive the proceeds. Donors could potentially claim a sizable tax deduction.
Donate Items
We welcome donated goods that align with our vet-approved items for in-shelter use and rely on community donations to help stock our Pet Food & Supply Pantry for owned pets. Our most immediate and ongoing needs are dry pet food (cat and dog) and cat litter. Donations may be dropped off at Entrance B (Adoptions) anytime during our business hours, 10:00 am–5:30 pm Tuesday–Sunday.
