If you have stock that has appreciated in value and you’ve owned those shares for more than a year, you might consider donating to the shelter. Donating stock allows you to avoid capital gains tax and often take a charitable deduction for the full value of the asset.

IRA Charitable Rollover
If you are 70 ½ years old or older, giving from your IRA can help reduce your taxable income. For those over 73 who must take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), an IRA gift is a simple way to fulfill it.

Vehicle Donation
Donate a car to the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County through our partner and your vehicle supports our mission. We accept all types of vehicles, running or not— including cars, trucks, trailers, boats, RVs, motorcycles, campers, off-road vehicles, planes, heavy equipment, and even farm machinery. (Non running vehicles must it must be in one piece and towable, have an engine, and be tow truck accessible.)
