Meet “The King”

Try not falling in love with me, Tommy (A535857)! I’m a three-year-old Labrador Retriever and Pit Bull mix.

I’ve been in the shelter system since September 2018 when I was found running around Central Washington with porcupine quills stuck in my face! Yes, I was a bit of a mess, thank you very much! But I quickly became a staff and volunteer favorite. Soon after, that shelter got too full of dogs and I was moved to the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County earlier this year. And again, the staff and volunteers love me! I am The King, after all! The local Goodwill in-house costume experts even stopped by and made it official with my very own Elvis costume, just in time for Halloween!

Even though my life’s been a little rough, I’m the forgive and forget type! I know my perfect family is out there waiting to find me. I’d do best in a home that can commit to me and help me learn some of the doggie ropes! I would do great with training based on positive reinforcement. I LOVE food and would do anything to get a treat, attention, and toys. Because I’m such a character, I would do best in a home where I can be your only fur child. I would be an excellent running or hiking buddy and crave an active lifestyle. Apartment living is not a good fit for me and I need to be around older kids or teens that can respect my size!
