Low-Cost Service Income Guidelines
Tacoma Humane offers free and lower-cost vaccines, microchips, parasite prevention, and other basic services for qualifying community pets.
Preventative Care Within Reach
At the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County, we recognize the importance of making veterinary care accessible to all pets. In partnership with Petco Love, we provide no-cost (while supplies last, taxes apply) and low-cost vaccines, parasite preventatives, and microchips to income-qualifying community members.
Our clinics are designed for basic wellness services. They are not full-service veterinary appointments and cannot diagnose or treat illness, injury, or ongoing medical conditions.
Current clinic services include free core DA2PP vaccines for dogs and FVRCP vaccines for cats, along with lower-cost rabies vaccines, microchips, flea treatment, and deworming.

It depends on the clinic. Review the individual event listing for registration and walk-in information.
Who qualifies?

Can you vaccinate puppies and kittens?
Some vaccines may begin at eight weeks of age, while rabies vaccination generally begins later. Staff will confirm eligibility based on age and available records.

Possibly, but service availability depends on the pet’s health, age, prior care, and clinic inventory.
Will my pet receive a full veterinary exam?
No. These are limited-service preventive care clinics.
Can you treat an ear infection, skin condition, or injury?
No. Please contact a full-service veterinary provider.
What if I do not have vaccination records?
Come prepared to share what you know. Staff will explain what can safely be provided without documentation.
