84 Cats Have Loving Homes

In August, 84 cats and kittens were rescued from an overcrowded home and brought to the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County for immediate care. Some were sick, some were underweight, and many were only a few days old.

Thanks to the incredible compassion and support of our community, each one received the care and comfort they needed to heal and thrive.

Now, we’re thrilled to share that all of those cats have been adopted into loving homes—where they’re coming out of their shells, exploring their new spaces, and soaking up endless cuddles. Here’s an update on a few of those deserving cats and how they’re doing today.

Ollie

“Ollie is a sweet little guy who is getting used to his new home and has a little friend who I also adopted named Jack. Ollie cuddles with me, wraps around my legs when he needs attention, and loves all his new toys. Thank you for my babies—I love them so very much.”

Quinn

“Quinn is doing very well and is a talkative cuddle bug. She’s the sweetest, most loving cat. Quinn’s favorite toy is a yellow pompom, and she loves sun puddles.”

Mirabel

“Mirabel has been adjusting amazingly into our household! We have discovered that she loves a laser pointer more than all else. She is an amazing addition to our family, and I can’t be more thankful that we ended up with her.”

Oliver

“Oliver is a very sweet boy with a gentle heart, and I’m so grateful to have him. I am also grateful for everyone who was involved in the rescue of Oliver and his feline family.”

Bodhi and Mojo

“Mojo is finally coming out from under the bed and socializing with us. Bodhi has taken to his harness and leash and has had a few walks around the house. They are big fans of catnip and feathers on a string. Last night we got out the crinkle tunnel, which is a big hit and greatly abused throughout the night. All in all, they’re doing great and settling in.”

Dina

“Dina is definitely teaching us a lot of things, as this is our first pet. We always catch ourselves awing at the small little things that she does. Thank you to those who made it happen!”

Dior

“Dior is so friendly! I’m so happy to have this new addition to our home. I am honored that I had an opportunity to bring home a cat who has probably never had a real home. He is silly, sweet, and very loving!”

Penny

“Penny is absolutely thriving in her new space, and we are getting along beautifully. Her personality has opened up so much, and she is showing her true nature: extremely affectionate, loving, playful, and feisty. Penny is everything I wanted out of a pet, and I am so grateful I was given the opportunity to adopt her.”

Deku

“Deku is absolutely loving his new home! He loves to play, snuggle, and give plenty of kisses. Deku is definitely filling in a missing piece in our hearts after we lost one of our cats before adopting him—he was meant to be with us. He is such a love.”

Buck

“Buck has truly made his way into our family. His nickname is Squeaky because he has the softest and sweetest meow. He is so loving, quirky, energetic, and loyal. It has been heartwarming to see him come out of his shell and give him the love that he so desperately deserves and craves!”

Rufus

“Rufus is the most chill cat I’ve ever owned. He is interested in everything. He is a loving, special kitten in a house that cherishes him. His foster family did a good job with him! Thank you for caring for him until I could get there.”

Feyra

“Feyra is amazing! She is so precious and loving! We adopted her with another cat we named Lucien, and they are so bonded and getting along great. We are so happy we found them both!”

Eleanor

“Eleanor took some time to get comfortable, as expected, but now enjoys hunting toys and running around like a wild child. She loves to wake me up by purring and yowling for pets as soon as I move a little in the mornings. She was a wonderful addition to my household and I am so happy I got to adopt her.”

Iris

“Iris has been doing well! She’s curious and very brave. She loves crawling all over the place and jumping up to wherever she pleases. She’s been getting along with our dog, Tyson very well. We’re hoping for many years of love and fun to come.”

Betty

“Betty’s doing great! She has been having a great time exploring her new home. Her favorite activities are to play fetch with her spring toys and get head pets on my lap.”

Fern

“Fern is doing so well. She is incredibly sweet and our family is so happy to have her. Fern is very outgoing and playful, perfect fit with our four kids. We are all so in love with her.”
