Puppies with Parvovirus
We are heartbroken to share that four of the abandoned puppies who came to our shelter with severe parvovirus have passed away. Our veterinary team used every resource and treatment available, but the puppies’ health took a turn for the worse this weekend. The difficult yet compassionate decision was made to euthanize three of the puppies in the worst shape, while the fourth passed on her own.
The surviving puppy is showing promising signs of recovery while still fighting the deadly disease. She’s receiving IV fluids to combat dehydration and a high-calorie supplement to help her gain weight and hopefully survive this ruthless virus.
This work is never-ending and sometimes emotionally taxing. Nevertheless, we are thankful beyond words for the incredible support from our kind community to help us exhaust every possibility to save these vulnerable puppies. Your generosity will help us continue this fight to save Esperanza and the many other pets who come to our shelter in need of help.
