    Why License Your Pets

    To protect your pet

The Humane Society still believes in the importance of licensing.  Pet licenses are one of the best ways to keep pets free from harm.  A lost pet can easily be returned to you when it is wearing a license, identification tags, and/or has a microchip.  The finder of the pet may be able to contact you directly.  Or they may contact the municipality which issued the license, who will work to return your pet to you.  If your pet finds its way to our shelter, you will be contacted.

Your pet’s microchip information will be included in our database.

Anyone who finds your pet will know there is an owner and will try to return your pet to you.

Animal Control Officers can identify the pet and contact you to let you know where to locate your pet.

    Licensing is the law

By licensing your pet you are simply following the law (and avoiding possible fines).
