Over 100 Pets Adopted During Valentine’s Special

To help families find ‘the one’ this Valentine’s Day, the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County hosted a four-day adoption promotion from February 13 -16, offering $14 adoptions for all pets. The response was heartwarming: 80 dogs, 30 cats, and four critters found loving homes or began home trials during the event!

Deebo’s Journey

Deebo arrived at the shelter in November and quickly stole the hearts of both volunteers and staff. As an office foster, he made his rounds with various team members, proving himself to be a true turnkey dog—ready to settle in and make any space feel like home.  

Deebo adored every person he met and was easygoing and adaptable to multiple settings. He was exactly the kind of dog people picture when they dream of a perfect companion fitting seamlessly into their lives. We just knew ‘the one’ was out there for Deebo. 

After nearly three months of waiting, Deebo finally had his adoption meet-and-greet—and it was love at first sight. His adopter knew the moment he saw Deebo in the adoption room that he was the one. Having already won over the hearts of countless staff and volunteers, Deebo received a heartfelt “see you later” from the team as he headed off to start his next chapter with his new family.

Deebo is just one of 114 heartwarming matches made during our Valentine’s Day adoption promotion—that’s a whole lot of love! We’re beyond grateful for the adopters and fosters who opened their hearts and homes to find ‘the one’ during our special event.
