SPAY DAY SETS RECORD!

clover-park-dog-2.jpgTo celebrate Spay Day USA, 155 cats and dogs were altered in one day at twelve veterinary clinics in Pierce County.  The Humane Society paid for a portion of each surgery — from $35 to $50, and the client made up the difference.  Many clients were able to have their pets altered because of the discounted price, and many veterinarians dedicated the day just to surgery.

At Clover Park Veterinary Hospital in Lakewood, sixteen animals were altered, including seven-month old “Princess,”  seen here recovering from anesthesia in a kennel.  Her owner was thrilled to hear about the promotion.  “I knew I had to have her spayed — I didn’t want to add to the overpopulation — but I really needed help,” she said.  “Thank you guys so, so much for doing this!”
